Since You Walked Away
Oh, I am not naïve anymore
I have long turned a corner from
our many foolish rendezvous,
You can’t tempt me with
your coy smiles anymore
Nor draw me into your
web of deceit with your
endearing beguiling looks,
I am immune to your magical
silky soft touch, if you must know.
And privy too I am to your
collusion with the surreal sunsets
and the ethereal moonlit nights,
You cannot entice me anymore
with your candle light trysts,
Fragrance of your flowing tresses
and the musky aroma of your body
fail to imprison me in its magical vise;
Now I am free of all carnal allure
My spirit and my senses are pure,
My savvy soul is rearing to soar…
Oh, for heaven’s sake,
Just show me your face once more,
Since the day you walked away
I am forlorn; Lo, I am sad to the core!
