Simple

A simple poem's what I write For I am just a simple man, Quite frequently they write themselves, And most without a master plan. A title sometimes leads the way, A dream can also be my muse, But mostly poems have their say I'm just a vessel that they use. I even find that rhyming words Can clue me into what comes next, Though just before I'd hit a wall, Creative pow'rs break loose unvexed... This word, this knight on brawny steed, With mighty arm unseals my fate And clears a path to promised land - A poem that I'd love to date! Brian Johnston January 13, 2014
