Silhouette

There is something about the absolute silence of your presence. The world slows and everything is slightly stiller, slightly colder waiting for you. I felt the effects on the world before I saw you. Your dark silhouette planted against the light doorway so unaware of my presence. I was walking by and it had been so long since we spoke, but that one glimpse felt like your hands were once more circling my waist and my face pressed against your neck on a winter's night. The world was waiting and so was I, not breathing, waiting for you to speak any one word. But you moved back from the doorway your lips not making one twitch and the sounds of night picked up again.
