Silently Dancing

In a magical world She slides down a rainbow Of tinkling laughter Landing in a pot of gold. Covered in pixie dust she twirls. Fingers clicking, head-bobbing, Feet tapping, humming To a song only she can hear. My Down Syndrome princess, A gentle soul she has. If she had her voice A beautiful songbird she would be. How I long to hear her song. A stroke, tragically, Stole it away Like a thief in the night Today her dance is loud and clear Joy circles her like a bodyguard Under the rainbow Near her pot of gold.
