Perched from approaching danger quite at home high up on the tree gazing encompassing the full view of everything around me Listening to the whispers of the breeze flowing through the forest trees Autumn leaves gracefully waltz downward on the woodland floor sea Movement sounds of rustling leaves beneath the canopy of trees Silently I fly spreading my wings striking with my talons wide Down into the world with impact force I snatch my prey with pride 3/17/2016

Hi Eve, You have done a great job of putting your reader in the hunter's place. I especially like the way your line arrangement adds to the drama of the hunter and the prey. Kathy

Eve, I can't believe I had not seen this one of yours before. the picture you chose to go with it WOW, and your words to describe yourself as an owl were lovely. Congrats in my contest. omg, I just realized I had envisioned an eagle when I wrote my blog for the winners. I better go and change that right now!!

Sorry for the late response, Eve. And thanks for reading my silly "Who ARE You" poem. Lol is an acronym standing for "laugh out loud". Nowadays, people more-or-less use it to indicate a smirk or a chuckle, rather than a full blown braying laughter (unless you find it in all caps like this LOL).

A true poem, well done. My husband literally saw this yesterday. A hawk flew out of no where and with lighting speed caught a young woodpecker and flew up in the air with the poor bird making an awful sound knowing his fate. Sad though.

Just like watching National Geographic, who needs the visuals when you have commentary like this. You have painted the picture with your words, magnificently. Congratulations on the POTD. A well deserved honor. Peace, Ms. Eve:):)
