Silence: What I Am
If it be food that i cannot enjoy,
If it be a cold shower that i cannot endure,
If it be a dream that i cannot conjure,
If it be a thought; one upon which i cannot ponder,
Malice, love, are all the same to me
If sweet SILENCE i do not receive
Call me a monster, i can walk that shame
an ogre in no need of fame
but one you can tame with ease.
Step over me, slander me, spite my name
for all that i will take,
till u can hurt me no more
but let SILENCE be my gift.
All i ask for and give is SILENCE
for with it i find solace
it drives me to counter your malice.
In it i feed your hate and quench your jealousy.
With it i fight with my hands tied.
With it victory i gain that which you require
With it, am proud to be WHAT I AM
'A simple man with a simple mind'.
