Words, too many words, superfluous and useless. They bind you in a swirling vortex, drown you in inconsequential thoughtlessness. Oh for a few moments of supreme silence, in some secluded space, where you might not even hear the wayward wind comes and goes. A quiet nook, devoid of insane noise, You then can walk with God. For even when He became man, He looked for silent places, high up on the lofty mountain tops. So my sinful superficial soul aspires for that empty sound of the suburb soul, a liveable lullaby of paradoxical peace, where the warring world is shut out There I will find a small cosy corner where I can meet and talk to God, my rendezvous with my beloved Lord.

Dear Victor, There's a time to be silent, a time to speak out. Where there's injustice time's right for Faith to shout… Beryl

This is such a beautiful, inspiring and tranquil poem to read dear Victor. I love the title and the picture too that pairs perfectly. There are sometimes too many words/ thoughts that swirl around and takes you away from being in that peaceful moment - that moment of open thought, communication with the soul’s connection to God. I love this poem dear Victor and the reminder of tranquility and all it offers with silence and being one with God. Thank you for sharing. X

I love quiet, I love silence. That's when we get the most and important imagination and inspiration and yeah! When we should listen to what God has to say. Great write. Loved the last line.

a beautifully constructed poem filled with the yearning for silence and what it gives one's soul. Your poem was inspirational and sincere. I especially liked: So my sinful superficial soul aspires for that empty sound of the suburb soul, a liveable lullaby of paradoxical peace Those alliterative lines were powerful and resonated with me. I also liked the last two lines. A truly magnificent and spiritual poem, Victor. It was a delight to read. Wishing you a blessed evening, Sara

This is an absolutely beautiful grandiose poem. The absence of stimuli, rather than an involved therapy, was sane advice. I will fave this poem. It is a good reminder.

Your need for peace in the face of chaos is so well expressed, Victor. A desire for calm in the midst of disarray, together with the courage to contemplate and forge a bond with what is spiritual.

An illumination of enlightenment, Victor, that I have privileged my eyes on this fine morning of spatial measure in Hawaii as you've described yours to be, and mahalo for your visit, my friend. Aloha, William

Victor, so many wonderful images in phrases like "livable lullaby," and "supreme silence." The image of "empty sound" so perfectly sums up the chaos of the world and its effects on us - effects that drive us to find quiet nooks to talk with God and let God touch us. I love the contrasts between useless noise and renewing silence. Thank you for this beautiful poem. Blessings to you! "Be still and know that I am God."

wow, that is so interesting to sit and reflect in utter silence. I guess since I rarely do this, I don't commune with God as much as I should. I actually pray while I am driving to work! I try to make all my minutes count. Great work.

Yes, "sit down by my Jesus, Lord, I'm gonna sit and rest a little while". I know that sounds or noises seem to be constantly around us eliminating our source of peace and quiet. Thanks for sharing this one with us and for dropping by my page. Sara K

Your poetic words evoke a yearning for a sacred space where the soul can rest and connect with God. Victor, it's a heartfelt reflection on the power of silence to nurture spiritual growth and intimacy with the divine. Blessings, Daniel.

A wonderful poem about finding peace talking to God! A nook is romantic and maybe more fancy than a closet. But this poem brings to mind an old time spiritual about an old woman who was troubled and went into her room, a closet to pray! Great job!

Longing for the silence: a livable lullaby of paradoxical peace, where the warring world is shut out--we all yearn to get there. Well said, Victor.

Absolutely beautiful, Victor. In the silence all is still...now I know the meaning of a word-drop~ and the ripple voice of eternal sea. Search on the net for a meditation called "The Silence", by Hanna Jacob Doumette. You may find it a worthwhile read. Who knows? Great poem!
