Silence

Silence. It never could recapture Our heady drift that existed Before night was gone. Such ancient longings. Sifting through centuries, Countless lifetimes, To tap your well spring. But I did not sign up for your noise. The words you have chosen, Wedged between God and mankind, Have gouged me to my bone marrow. Yet here I am once again. Alone. Splattered. Against the backdrop Of love's bravest dream. I'd have learned, one would think, That sharp shards of shattered glass cut deep. Though clearly, Not deep enough. Or I wouldn't be here once more, Now would I? Sniffing around for your sunshine scent, Longing for something I never really had. Languishing in my isolation, Longing for your embrace, Picturing your face, Needing to escape this place. Nothing learned. Yet all lost. Within this Brutal silence.

When the heart is heavy the silence is too loud. Memory's need noise to ease the pain. May your heart hear joy again one way or another. Forgetting is impossible it seems when we continually search for someone else's answers. Peace. :)

Very strong emotional poem, Elisa. You express your thoughts/feeling well. Powerful images expressed w/depth and pain. Listening to Blue Magic's cover of "In the Rain" while reading this heart aching poem made your words have an even more gripping impact. Excellent poem. May love light your path always.

It does have some drama, could be more clear at times especially at the beginning. Some poetic techniques are there, good effort. Keep on.
