Silence

Silence came from long ago It hit like a tidal wave the story goes Stealing the voices of those who talk too much Rewarding those whose tongues are reigned Silence came on the first day of autumn It came from nowhere & was forgotten Those who remember it's visit were touched by its withered coiled finger The echoes of silence still lingers Be weary my loose mouthed friends For silence is a vengeful fiend Stealing your tongue in the blink of an eye Leaving you to sorrow in silence.
