Silence

The moon hangs low its soft glow illuminating my bedroom walls. The night air is warm. The darkness lays thick on my head. It's quiet now. Water trickles from the corners of my eye. I can't hear anything other than my heavy sobs. Then it's quiet again. There's an ache in the middle of my chest. A knot in the middle of my stomach. Thoughts circulate my wrinkled forehead. Around, and around, and around. Again, and again, and again. I don't want to bother the night air anymore. I close my eyes. Silence.
