Siesta

Idly the weary ceiling fan rotates Air is hot but bearable A mood for lethargy. Sprawled on the bed my Venus lies asleep Splintered light through slanting blinds Highlights her naked skin. ------------------------------------------------- Contest: Let's Try a Little Kimo Sponsor: Amy Green 29th May 2014

Glad you like this kimo, Joseph. Yes, Frankie Avalon had some good songs, Venus being one of the (takes me way back!). // paul

It sounds like orbiting Venus garnishes some pretty spectacular views. I enjoyed this voyeuristic marvel.

Nice poem and nice for the contest. When I was growing up - we had no air condition. All we had was a fan, but I don't remember the days being so hot as they are today. Thanks for sharing...Lucilla

Thanks for stopping by, Lucilla. I still have no air conditioners in the house; they are not on good terms with my eyes! Still use fans, although as you say the temperature seems to get hotter year after year. Take care. // paul
