Shortening the Day

Tonight we change the clocks, which means Tomorrow when I wake, The world will look transparent And will not appear opaque. It’s nice to have some morning light But not worth what we lose And darkness in the afternoon Is not what I would choose. For shorter days just make me Want to hurry up inside, Cocooning in the coziness That lamps and lights provide. But that’s a paltry substitute For sunshine and fresh air And when the daylight lingers late Indoors just can’t compare. We can’t fight City Hall, they say, So I’ll reset the time But I can still complain and oh, I love to kvetch in rhyme!

I gained two hours when I woke because I jumped ahead. But then I figured out that we were to go back instead. So I was feeling pretty good until this evening came. Tomorrow I will wake again and hope that it's the same. Peace. :)

Great work, Ilene! I hate the shorter days, too. Of course, I'll enjoy the extra hour of sleep tonight but tomorrow I'll be complaining when it's dark at 5 o'clock...thanks for stopping by my work and for your always kind comments. It's good to be back. Love and Blessings, Rhonda

I do hate that they still adjust the clocks...It does take a good week to adjust my sleep pattern....hugs Tim
