Shopping For Rubies
I spent my day shopping for rubies,
Walked all day until my feet were sore.
To find the perfect one,
But it had to be in a bargain store.
I bartered and fought,
Throughout the whole day,
With the clerks left and right,
And to their dismay.
I only had thirty bucks,
in my pocket you see,
But I wanted a good one,
Can you lower the fee?
I was thrown out of the stores,
Like a poor old pauper.
And the words they used,
Were far from proper.
I shall try the next street,
the next block, and then,
Perhaps they will have mercy
for everywhere that I've been.
