Shooting Star

SHOOTING STAR The Shot... They killed. Their hate... They willed. The blood... It spread. From heart... To head. The gun... Was pressed. A scream... Was stressed. Wild eyed... Prayer said. and Bang... You're dead. The Shot... Their hate.... The blood..... From heart..... The gun.................... A scream............................ Wild eyed........... and Bang. They killed. They willed. It spread. To head. Was pressed. Was stressed. Prayer said. You're dead. by Edlynn Nau

Thank you Skat! Crazy that shootings need ever to be the subject of a poem in our time and in the U.S. But then, here it is always in the news. Sometimes, poetry can teach as well as question and remind us of a needed dedication. I hope I don't have to write another one of these dark drudges. Thank you for giving this a read. I'm on my way over to your Wall.

Wonderful Heartfelt dedication Edlynn. My heart goes out to those families affected by this awful tragedy. You have written something with so much emotion. We have missed you. How is California doing, how are you doing? Are you still battling those wild fires, has it calm down there?

Calming down and trying to get back to our P Soup family! I'm still afraid to unpack or take out my SEALS Go Bag. My cat, Charley's cage, is still standing at the ready by the door. Possibly fire season is over. PROBLEM two (should we get rain) will be Flood since the whole NE of the Lake has no trees now! So it's time to shovel up some sandbags. Get ready for a rash of poems about the power of water! Ha!
