Shooting Star

There once was a star In the north, shining brightly The winds would blow hard But she held her spot tightly Though appearing quite firm She was losing grip Her grasp on the night sky Was beginning to slip The unexpected happened The star began to fall Her light slowly dying It was a shock to them all Now when you gaze up You'll still see from afar Hoping she'd return north Wishing upon your shooting star

Oh wow. I don't know why I didn't see this earlier. It's beautiful and VERY true. It looks like something I would write, it captures the feeling perfectly. Great write, and my best wishes.
