I wish I could forget the night of my disgrace, when on stage I wore shoes fashioned of red lace. I took the role of seductress and played the part. When I cheated on him I crushed his loving heart. In my scarlet heels I became a brazen flirt, kissing actors in love scenes that left him hurt. What a foolish twit I was on the night I strayed. My shoes were not worth the high price I paid. I made a fool of myself with each step I took. By wearing sexy shoes I was baiting my hook. But they gave me blisters and pinched my toes. On opening night I became the thorn on his rose. I burned those shoes and watched the smoke rise, as tears and mascara streaked my actress eyes. I'm haunted by the scene in which I wore those shoes. Instead of rousing applause, I deserved taunting boos.

A wonderful metaphor for an adulteress, I must admit it doesn't surprise me when I hear of Hollywood romances going awry. I find it difficult to believe anyone can truly separate movie from reality when they are fulfilling their fantasies on screen, no matter what they try to tell themselves (It's acting). Great write Lin.

Hi Lin, these excellent writes just seem to flow from your pen. Who needs shoes when you dance in the stars. This write has such emotional content that i know i shall always find in your writes Lin. The tears can fall as one reads the beauty in the sadness. You always manage to put beauty in the sadness. Kick off those shoes and come into my arms, we dance in the stars. A definite seven and a fave. Love....Mike. XX
