She Took It Upon Herself

She rests her head atop A pillow of empty pill bottles Her eyes locked shut Her skin snow white Her breath muted She got sick of waiting for a happily ever after So she took it upon herself To take herself And in a pool of prescription capsules She broke into her nirvana I don’t blame her She just wanted pleasure instead of pain She just had the guts to open the floodgates And let the glory shower over her I don’t blame her But I do cry As I embrace her icy skin Kiss her blue tinted lips And stroke my hand upon her pallid face I just can’t believe She’s dead But beautiful Beautiful But dead

This is incredible---written art, full of meaning and beauty. Your remorse is genuine. Very nice work.
