She Is the Light
Under a blanket of darkness
Secretly they made their escape
Only a single lantern
To help them find their way
Many years of oppression
Broken bones from much abuse
Terrorized them everyday
They felt they had no other way
Suffering in silence
At the hands of ones they loved
Praying one day the cycle would end
God would send a helping hand
Than one day it happened
She came into their lives
Herself she had been a victim
But she found the courage to rise
No longer would she sit back
Placed underneath his thumb
She was made to be his equal
So she slowly rose above
Her destiny it was clear
She was meant to help so many
To teach them that the way to happiness
Was to find peace and love within themselves
With this they'd find stability
She started on her journey
One woman at a time
But if you choose to look closely
You'll see she's formed a line
An angel in her calling
Though she was unaware
Many lives she will save
On her path of love and care
