She Has Great Legs

She smiled the smile of a bankrupt barrister No one suspected her files were out of order Walking across the floor on staccato heels They stared as she strutted through the corridor They had fallen prey to her honeyed tones Her breath had declared their innocence They gladly paid her fee in advance Deceived by confident indifference Unimpeded by the facts of the case She only practiced the art of beauty Her greatest successes gifted by men Who were bewitched while on jury duty Sometimes though, there would be a lady Judge Demanding to hear the facts of the case The accused was no longer mesmerized They had a look of concern on their face The scales of justice weighted against them Sad for them, no get out of jail free card She's off to the next unsuspecting fool They're unaware that she should be disbarred

What a cool story. It reminded me of those 90s dramas where the beautiful girl isn't what she seems and ensnares people in her lies. A cautionary tale where personal feelings affect the outcome of justice. Well told.

A great tale full of caution. Love the line 'unimpeded by the facts' Those pesky facts do get in the way don't they?

Once again, your title & the poem's core message threw me for a loop. Beautiful twist towards the end.

Good morning Drake. Being you have turned me into a contortionist with your poems the least you can do is a little twisting with mine *lol*.

Hi Rick, If I were a woman, I think I would feel uncomfortable dressing in sexually provocative ways, such as your lawyer here. Knowing men's eyes were constantly looking me over. I would feel naked, I think. As men we can't help ourselves. Its like our eyes have a mind of their own. So -- they wander. Still, I think it is far better than forcing women to wear burkas:) BTW, I enjoyed our conversation this weekend. Peace...Sam

Reminds me of a song by Zizzy Top...She's got legs...She knows how to use them. Yes, some women do use beauty as a tool to get what they want when they and how they want it. Great write, Richard. I read this earlier, but am only now coming by to comment. Hugs

I can tell this person is real. I sympathies for her never to become a partner only a tool to be used for a set limited time. Then to go the same way as all ladies of the evening. Disbarred is another issue she has time to recreate her self but will she before it's too late. Poems like this should open a few minds.
