Shatter
I cower here alone,
Surrounded by the dark,
The pain is unbearable,
The remnants of my broken heart.
You shattered me to pieces,
Opened up all my wounds,
You left me in the darkness,
Alone to face my inevitable doom.
My heart was once a whole,
I trusted it to you,
You were my everything,
My heart had found a new.
I had found my serenity,
My abundance of joy in you,
I thought you were meant for me,
Yet I never pronounced my love for you.
That caused the first crack in my heart,
Shards scatter into the darkness,
You leave me wounded and weak,
My heart still bleeds for you.
I stand alone,
Crippled in the darkness,
The shadow you once cast next to mine now lurks all around,
The pain tore me open,
Leaving me hollow on the ground.
You shattered my heart into blades,
I can’t believe I bled over you,
Stabbing me from within,
With you my emotions left too.
I lay in the darkness,
Alone,
A shattered remnant of who I once was,
Waiting for the end to come.
