Shallow
A rippling reflection, startled waters
An image to capture, searching for a caption
Generational gaps pronounced, the margins denounce
Disquiet often lands in silence
On a path lit by the lonely.
Ambling in circles, for lack of more apt phrasing
Direction always persuasive, sincerity dissolved in repetition
Being a leader succeeds, only when soles follow
Dishonesty offers plenty to share
At the expense of a conscience, weaving a noose.
Searching for floods, to keep buoyancy at bay
Waves are preferred, to stillness with no turn
A listener to the eye, a filter before each canal
Maybe playing roles, would be a reversion
To a being, that relished reality, for its audience.
Isolating an existence, through another page
The chapters should be paced, but despair devours
Addiction finds substitute, temporarily without trigger
Capitulation, inches away, and maybe
The truth might free, only for judging eyes, to bar.
Dangling at cliffs' edges, falling to imbalance
Cushioned by understanding, of unkempt relations
Gratitude returns feathers, a meagre attempt at restoration
Apologies could cure, but sincerity
Would imbue acceptance, shallowing every depth.
