Shadowy Rogues
Shadows here, shadows there, shadows everywhere,
Moving, flying, lying in wait,
Creeping out on me and my mates.
No one should expect to be safe,
Especially, if you are out late.
Scary, limp, darken and dreary,
Sending the chills to make me weary.
Every moment I’m friendless
Wishing they let me sweat less.
Shrivelled up in a strange corner,
Smelling their odd decaying odour.
Fearing them making their way,
I say a single line of prayer.
My instincts call out to run,
But should not I wait for the sun?
As I step out the door,
I fall flat on the floor.
Feeling their odious touch,
Dallying on my soft tresses,
Letting out a deep long breath,
Readying to fight this shadowy kiss of death.
Will I ever win?
Will I see them squirm?
These are my questions,
As I wake up in my realm.
Shadow of men here, there, everywhere,
Locking me up every night,
To set their fleshy desires ablaze.
Wailing, withering, wasting away,
I stay alive to be scared another day.
