Shadows of Life
The shadows pervade the landscape
as dusk slowly covers the sun.
Playing trick on one's mind
as they darken and deepen.
Night is so different from day
both in its mystery and its
night creatures that walk
the land in cover of darkness.
People live different life's
in its deep blackness,
hidden from sight, foul
things regularly occur.
Some slip through life
yet leave no impression.
Others are remembered
many generations later.
Like many, a shadow in old friend's minds
that gives a gentle nudge of memory.
They remember me briefly as their
own life's move for ever onward.
Yet, too, I live in sunshine basking
I walk this day lit land with joy
in the warmth of the glorious beams.
Drawing strength from the written words.
Knowing that unlike shadows
they will live on possibly for eternity.
For countless people to enjoy
the words that we pen today.
