Shadows Cast

I try to put aside, that which came before. Feelings that I have had to hide, behind a tightly sealed door. It hasn't been an easy task, so much to sort through. Please don't pretend and ask, me to explain it all to you. The events of our past, have left my soul bare. Shadows that were cast, sadly, still linger there. After all that was said, it's an effort to wish you well. Thoughts whirling in my head, the secrets that I can't tell. I know that I am strong. For this, I have to be. I refuse to accept the wrong, that you knowingly put upon me. I do this, just for me. Then I turn and walk away, unburdened and free. And there is nothing you can say.
