Shadow Through the Looking Glass
Looking in the mirror
She sees past and through
The image
Of the body
Just the shadow of an image
Of the person
She’s become.
Around and through the mirror
To the place of
Backward shadows
Like Alice
Through the looking glass
The other side
Of home.
But the shadow girl
Is somewhere
Though she fails to see
Beyond it
The image in the mirror
Just a shadow
Standing there.
Can she chase the shadow image?
The wisp of
Who she could be
Like Alice,
Can the shadow
Make it to the
Final square?
