Shadow

Shadow walk with me in desert Walkst thou in woe and pain World for us was world of sorrow It was lasting tale of pain Songs of ocean, songs of Morrow In Eden we will regain Silent friend till death thou singth Songs of wisdom thou forever With Thee I have hopes of mine Part from me I wish thou never Larks are happy, gulls are happy Happier are the nights of moon Rose is happy, myrtle happy Happier are daisies in Noon But O shadow they will wither Daisies, roses , violet, myrtle They will wither very soon Happy songs with candles mingle Beetles with them weep and mourn They are shining in the evening They will fade in dewy morn In the final hours of suffering Linger thou till final beat O my hermit, thou that walkst Without shoes on thorn and sleet Wherest thou go , mighty shadow? In the darkest hours of pain In the glooms of waning nights Thousand times I called in vain Walk and walk till final hour In the bowers under sun Walk on channels that are holy If thou can not walk, then run Walkst thou on ways of wisdom Unravel thou moon and sun Walkst on His holy channels Angels, weathers, larks and men I'll show thee way to Eden Ways to Lord are ways to men
