Shades of Green
Anticipation of longer days
as the sun decides to extend it's stay
celestial jewels in ordained array
and shades of green block out the gray
Oh what a joy a season can bring
butterflies come out to play, and birds delight to sing
bumble bees do their own thing
while flowers dress like exalted kings
A tropic breeze now comes our way
seemingly carried on sun rays
daffodils in golden array
are now indeed on full display
Black eyed susan's attract birds on the wing
who eat the petals just leaving the ring
avoiding pesky insect stings
enjoying the beauty that butterflies bring
