Seti
Seventy six million spent
But not a single peep found
Many false alarms but
Not a single alien sound
Plenty of earthly signals
Lots from mobile phones
When it comes to unearthly
Ones we seem to be alone.
And out there in deepest space
The Guardians sigh with relief
Quarantine has held, the galaxy
Saves from the unnecessary grief
That most certainly would
Have been caused by the escape
Out into the universe of
the Blue Planet’s destructive ape,
