As I lay my heavy heart and mind down to sleep, If I fail to wake come morning, please do not weep I have suffered in this cruel world for way too long, I have awoken to the Heavenly Choir singing redemption's song All my suffering, on earth below The mockery and taunting from friends and foes Those thoughts shall no more flood my mind As I stepped into eternity, all sorrow I leave behind I will run to meet my sweet Jesus first Thank Him for never forsaking me at my worse I will take some time to marvel His face Then fall to His feet and thank Him for His amazing grace I will hold to His hand while strolling the streets of gold Knowing that eternity is forever and to never grow old With no knowledge of what my old life once held Only in the land of a joyous eternity I will dwell. I will sit down by the river of life As peace overtakes all worries and strife I will fellowship with loved ones gone on before me From all chains of bondage, I've been set free So come morning, if you can't find me in my usual place Like a thief in the night my Savior called me away I will be flying high with the Angels, my body transformed The raging sea left behind me, I have weathered the storm If there must be weeping, weep for those left behind For perilous times shall overtake them unless Jesus they find For I have been set free from a world full of malice and hate Beyond the clouds, I will be, just inside the sweet Eastern gates..
