Serendipity
An unexpected burst of mist
On a hot Summers day
Cashing in a winning ticket
And getting twice the pay
Walking through the grocery store
And seeing some old friend
You knew from way back long ago
But can't remember when
Shaking hands and trading smiles
You move along your way
Thankful for the blessing
That was given you that day
Sitting in a restaurant
And waiting for your food
When someone plays the jukebox
With a song that you approve
Waking up at 3 a.m.
And looking at the time
Knowing you have three more hours
Before you rise and shine
All of these are things that bring
A world of joy to me
I guess that you could say they are
My serendipity
