Serendipitously

As you peruse stacks of old photographs sentimental tears guide your memories. Drowning in a sea of yesterdays, you serendipitously find mom's letters. In your rush to grow up and leave home her advice was met with frustration; and yet without protest, she swallowed her pride and applauded every milestone you achieved. Time takes you back to when she last held you; stirring emotions, you forgot you had. For you never told her you loved her, and questioning your heart, you begin to cry. Isn't it weird how you miss her talks now? Alone, you deal with the hurt you're feeling by garnering love from a broken heart. (2nd Letter Acrostic spelling “Serendipitously”) 4/22/2015

Beautiful nostalgic poem about dealing with the guilt of maternal love taken for granted once it's too late. All that's left are memories and old photos. I love that the acrostic is with the 2nd letter of each word. First time I see this variation of the form. Well done, Emile.

this is not only heart wrenching, but a VERY clever poem, the way you used your acrostic with the second letter in each line. VERY unique!! This is a FAVE for me.
