Self Esteem

My shrink says I haven't any.. self esteem that is. Not good enough or smart enough I thought the ugly duckling would turn in to a swan.. didn't happen. Just living life in the slow lane. Gray and unattractive, old too But my mother loved me.. that's something, right?

Self esteem seems to be something we have to build within ourselves, Barbara. As a valedictorian, you know your have a lot of smarts! Now we have to work on your self perception of your outer beauty. To me you are beautiful; hope you can see yourself that way too. (But let's not give age any more thought, okay?) Love, Carolyn

You nailed it! These shrinks are no damn good. Take it from me, us old folks are pretty smart or we wouldn't be around. As for looks - beauty is only skin deep. Your poetry tells me are BEAUTIFUL! Love, Dave

The getting old is a mental feeling even though one is quite healthy in body. Nice expression of self-esteem

That is a BIG something...a mother's love. There are those in the world without it. And that is a pity. Are you 90 yet? At 90, my grandmother said for the first time in her life, "Dane, I am GETTING old." Getting old! Not old, yet. And she still dyed her hair and primped. She was an inspiration. (But I like gray...every gray hair in my head = wisdom!...just a thought.) What do shrinks know, anyway? LOL Be ye kind...to yourself. Lovingly, Dane Ann
