Seeking Solace

SEEKING SOLACE by JOHN M. ARRIBAS Like a mortally wounded animal he retreats to his lair Seeking, warmth and comfort, but alas, no one is there The hurt so unbearable , oh god, send someone to share He finds himself inconsolable, wallowing in utter despair He needs to treat his wound, but alas, no one is there The wound is so deep and aching its too much to bear He struggles passionately needing someone to care He is alone, isolated with agonies continuing to flare Is there no end to this anguish he suffers, sanity beware He can not carry this burden alone, but no one is there Her absence is the wound, he had no time to prepare Time had stolen her, he still searches, no, she is not there

Oh that life were more kind...! And, even at my senior age...somethings still make no justifiable sense. Great, brave and honest writing!
