Second Look Ahead
By the terrace is an archway smiling
Blazing in the sunlight there’s life lying
Painful memories mixed with joys as this
Heat encroaches the places nearby here
Walkway to a seeming inviting square
Though it seems powerful, I surely miss
There’s a black cat strolling across the way
Seeming to meander near me today
I would like to see him stay here, I wish
No matter how much of the gloom might be
The sun shines with its warmth I surely see
I feel her come to me, my love, a kiss
Shadows may form on the wall, so I cry
But never does it freeze me, lest I die
I will not avoid nor will I dismiss
Formed in my life are two sides that I see
Some burning and others cool to touch me
Terrace is the portal, I’m not remiss
