SEASONS OF LIFE For some peace falls from veils of evening shade As life moves ever slower t’ward night’s reign But I choose calm when gentle morning rain Soft palpitates on broad leaf woodland glade The cycles of our life make harmonies in Diurnal tides bestowing night and day While every year the changes of the season Give allegory of how we face the fray Springtime of youth sees each new brightening dawn As endless opportunity to be While early winter view: grey skies forlorn May hint to age a dulling of esprit Yet I’ll elect the spring and break of day With glint of morning sun on hair now grey 27 August 2020
