Season's Change
The path swirled muddy under my tired feet
beneath darkened clouds baby birds begin to sing
sun rays muffled , cold air dancing against the street
side walks stained wet with the hint of coming spring
Ice floats melting beneath mounds of blackened snow
playgrounds yawn as they emerge from their sleep
patiently I wait for the new crocuses to grow
and winters cold breath to slip away without a peep
Soon trees awaken from their sleep filled dreams
as new blossoms sprout excited, row by row
patient branch filled trees soon adorn new leaves of green
as bees and soft breeze cast new seeds of growth below
Seasons change as the world renews
casting out the old under promising skies of blue.
