Seasoned Mind
it’s summer’s farewell;
i am falling down
like all that around me
like the last leaf
in autumn’s wind
twirling down
my thoughts spin
un-grounded
out of control
i see the trees
bare of color
little branches
snap, like a mind
lost in the seasons
over time
at times
i feel more bare
less colorful
and more fragile
then they could ever be
they stand together
firmly on solid ground
awaiting winter’s cold hands
yet i stand alone
frozen from time
and memories
that taunt my mind
awaiting warmth again
