Seasonal Confusion
Football games and parades
And naps after the big dinner
For all but cooks and cleanup crew,
That's just the way it is.
The big shopping day on Friday
As dictated by the season,
Confusion and maxed credit cards
As we dine on yesterday's leftovers.
Thanksgiving is always slighted
As we hold our breath for Christmas,
Trying to please, remember colors and sizes,
Wanting to cut up the plastic.
Too much food, too much drink
Means the yearly resolution of diet;
Baking we don't do the rest of the year
Is left for the twelfth month of glitz.
