Seasonal Adventures
Through Autumn sails the tempests fury,
mountains and winds stand tall in a leaf-maze;
light paints the scene in haze of marbled
pinks, oranges and blues; hues subdued
by chaotic winds in their speeding flight.
Winter blows in, it's a chilling thrill,
earth's blanket of snow begins to warm,
while underground lives do slumber deep;
the elk and deer roam among naked trees
fulfilled are needs to awaken the spring.
While spring's reflections dot the ponds,
newborn are the flowers and grasses;
Sunlight stretches to touch the grounds
and herein the hearts treasures do abound
till summer's heat does bake the scenes.
Lazy summers freedom-spent in tents
and boats; on woodland hikes,
collecting shells and rocks, little tykes
take home their treasure hauls;
seasonal adventures bring such joys.
