Season of Joy
Children found it hard to sleep on Christmas Eve
Peeking out the window to see Santa's sleigh
In this jolly old fellow they did believe
With his reindeer guiding the way
The Christmas tree was all lit up
and presents lay neatly underneath
Too many drinks made the adults hiccup
The rum punch was just too sweet
"Chestnuts roasting from an open fire"
echoed through the speakers in the living room
and everyone had sweet desires
That their special gift would be arriving soon
On Christmas morning the kids would shouts
And gift wrap paper strewn all about
The gifts they wished for they held dear
In this joyous time of year
