You’re leaving again… It smells like leaving. It smells like heartbreak and late goodbye. But I’m still waiting… I have talked out my emotions… My dreams, I’ve put on hold. I’ve cried my tears of fear and disappointment… And I await… Still, my waiting turns to summer, When your hair smelled like June. Your eyes… like grass. Your lips, like heat. I’m still here, waiting, In these clothes that no longer fit. Do I no longer appeal to you? Are my wounds so clear? My love is now merely a lament, A vision. It may never be fulfilled. But I’m still waiting… For my tears would be Happiest with you. Come back to me… And leave out all the rest. I’m still here, waiting, But you’re a heartbreak away… And my tears rain, as if it were The beginning… And I will die, for the hundredth time I will… If my waiting cries for you. I cry… But it’s no longer me who’s crying. © 2009 Stefania Carmen Misaila
