Searching
Why does the bird sing?
Who does it call
When it calls
Does it become tired of calling
Silence
While it stares around
Black bird
Above me
Who do you want to see
Why do you keep flying
From tree to tree
When I first saw you
You were stretched out on an arm
I wonder if you are
Like me
Expecting harm
But you fly away
Fly around
Fly
Beautiful Black bird
Where did you go that fast
I wish I could take you
To see beauty that will last
I wish I could fly you over the Earth
Where the world was given birth
I wish we could look
From a distance
At what God did from an instance
Beautiful Black bird
I wish that you could show me
All that you’ve seen
But I wonder if you know
All that it would mean
The first time I glanced at you
I knew that you were special
A loud call you gave
Did they hear your call
Or did they pass you by
I heard your call
But it wasn’t for me
Beautiful Black Bird
If I called you
Would you answer me?
