Scary Moments

It happened just today How do I give them away Pre-wrapped Christmas gifts Puzzled, my mind shifts Don’t recall ordering these Suddenly I’m ill at ease Check the name tags Are people playing gags Gifts for Mom, Dad, John All people long gone Some gifts bore no names Who would play such games Who is this bicycle for Please tell me, I implore Upset, I wake up in a sweat Where am I, did I forget Why am I alone in bed When I’m still a newlywed To the mirror I run Where has my youth gone See my grandmother’s face Did I hit home without touching base What became of my life I am still a young wife But no, he’s gone now What did fate endow Memory slipping away It happened just today

Hi Carolyn: Thanks for your comment on bawdy miss clawdy. By the way , I thought it was interesting about Mr. Edison holding coins above a tin can. It gave me an idea considering my young age (ha ha)

Carolyn, this is REALLy good one for the scary contest. I think a dream like this, when it seems to real, is one of the scariest things ever. it recently happened, and just in time to give you a poem for this contest!!

A nightmare indeed, Jan. I'm still shaking.

Sounds like a nightmare rather than a nap Carolyn - this is a very clever thought provoking write - mum has early dementia so even though its a dream it hits home even harder with me especially the final two lines . hugs as ever Jan xx
