Scared Child

Scared child, do not let her deliver your fate Shadow of iniquity - she wants you dead Your post box must block her parade of sheer hate To devour your self-esteem, that’s her trait She’s full of elation if you’ve not been fed Scared child, do not let her deliver your fate She’ll make you believe she’s your passive soul mate Unravel your dignity thread by loose thread Your post box must block her parade of sheer hate Blossom blushes and drifts from lack of weight Scarlet scars on pure porcelain her words spread Scared child, do not let her deliver your fate Fingers like splinters, what a mess she’ll create Clogs up the plughole with limp hair she helps shed Your post box must block her parade of sheer hate Each hunger pang sparks an internal debate Once dark, stiff as steel she slides into your bed Scared child, do not let her deliver your fate Your post box must block her parade of sheer hate

thank you Carol that really means a lot. I have just finished my first year of a Creative Writing degree & am doing poetry as my core course next year so I am very touched to be getting this feedback!

Terrific reading, so sad. I have not written this form of poetry but a lot said within it I see Felicity. Love, Carol
