Scarecrow

Blackened Crow circle frightened hardly -plucking nightly the fruits of her harvest pitchforked hollow eyes watch behind the disguise of a red worn bandana impaled and left to molder

Damn, Tim - I hope it doesn't sound childish or irreverent to say that this was a cool poem - I mean it in a way the word doesn't quite capture but I'm very impressed with this. The formatting is a whole extra layer of flavor to enjoy - great all the way around

A case when the scarecrow is scarier than the crows, and I'm NOT a big fan of crows, or scarecrows for that matter ;) Thanks for pointing this one out, Tim.

The eerie atmosphere surrounding this peace makes me see it for possibly more than it is. "Plucking nightly the fruits of her harvest" I could write a whole paper on this. Weldone!

Maybe the story can be expanded when the farmer wakes up...He gets busy, scarecrow there or not, the black birds will not crow anymore. Excellent.

This gives me an eerie feeling..and makes me wanna solve the mystery. Does the crow eat the fruit of her harvest at night cuz at night the crow fails to see the ugly scarecrow in the dark ? It doesnt mean the scarecrow is gone jist cuz he isnt seen . Did I get the msg or am I failing to see yr scarecrow tale ? : ).Love it when a poem makes me think. Guess you can even make a tanka out of that scarecrow and crow.

You got most of it. The scarecrow is left to rot because he isn't doing his job. Eventhough he csn see them but he is helpless. And the crow are being scandalous by picking the fruits at night hence they are blackened
