Say Whut
Often times when something's said,
It's not heard the way it's meant.
This causes some confusion,
Although without intent;
For oft times we don't listen,
To the words as they are said;
So later when remembered,
They seem different in our head.
So then we're angry over things,
We really shouldn't be,
Because it never happened,
The way that we now see.
We open wounds that never heal,
Trying to get even,
And doing so we often leave,
Even ourselves a-grievin'.
Bonds are severed, hearts are bruised,
By words and accusations,
That really have no ground amid,
True friends and loved relations.
So when conversing listen to,
The words and how they're said,
Instead of contemplating on,
Hidden meanings in your head.
