Savior

I am writing a novel (or biofiction), 'The Girl at the Rest Stop.' It's about a young girl who was abandoned, rescued by a man, and eventually adopted by the man and his wife. I use poems on the pages between the 50+ chapters; each poem is pertinent to the chapter that follows. This is one of the poems.
I’ve put up with this horror for too many years, And I can’t even count how many tears, That I’ve had to shed, Everyday, just trying to get ahead. They left me on the highway, To fend for myself my way, But that seemed to be the break, That I desperately needed, And it was God’s words to me, That I carefully heeded. God said, “Don’t worry, my child, Your savior is coming soon. You will be in good hands, In the late afternoon.” God’s angel suddenly appeared, And welcomed me into his life, To get away from the devils, And their miserable strife. Friday the Thirteenth has been good to me, And the light on the Fourteenth, is shining on thee, It is you, my Savior, on a great white steed, Sent from the heavens to do . . . God’s wonderful deed.
