Save Me
Please can’t you see?
When you’re looking at me
That I need love
I need a family
Please don’t forget me
Out on the street
I need a home
Someone I can greet
My last home wasn’t happy
It wasn’t okay
My owner beat me
And told me to stay
Despite my mean treatment
I did as I was told
But the mean man wouldn’t feed me
He left me out in the cold
Tied with a chain
Very close to a tree
There was no way I could ever
Escape and get free
Days would go by
With not one kind word
Hate and resentment
Was all that was heard
Please someone save me
From this horrible place
I’m running out of time
My life is a race
One last time
I finally break free
But the chain that had bound me
Was then turned on me
He beat me so hard
I couldn’t hold on
My life beat out of me
Until I was gone
No more pain
A better place ahead
Never thought it would be
Because I was dead
Never mistreat
Hate and abuse
Always have a heart
And care what you do
Please be kind
Remember that I was someone too
You really wouldn’t want the same thing
To happen to you
