Save a Soul
Why give a flower worth
fifty thousand bucks to the
dead,
when it can get five
thousand dying kids well
fed.
Why use a million bucks for
fun to fly to france,
when it can ofset the
overhead of the oppressed
and orphans.
Why have a house on a hill
or a sky scrapper on the
sea,
when the future engineer
cannot pay his school fee.
Why garnish your body
with golden garments,
when a medical doctor in
the making daily laments.
Hey, those classy and
colourful cars cannot fit
into your casket,
your buildings will say
goodbye when you kick
the bucket.
What will live after you are
the lives you have truly
touched;
what will count in afterlife
are those you cared for or
crushed.
Give a hope to the hopeless
and a hand to the helpless,
that little change can
change the chances of the
cheerless;
our words, water, will,
wealth and whatever we
have,
can save the souls that
stink, stumble, and starve.
Save a soul today!
