Fervent redbirds began to croon, As onyx shadows danced in tune, Idle afternoon of peacock plumes, amid greenness and floral fumes. Saffron sunshine forever resumes, with memories of pale, pink moon. Gardener's pride, flowers maroon, seeking the usual golden fortune, under skies of lost purple balloon, and mystery clouds, leaving soon. Wistful, aging Saturday afternoon!

Dear Evelyn, this is a stunning read. You have captured so much with your beautiful imagery and always so artistic use of colour - one of the best. This is a tranquil monorhyme with a lovely calm feel and perfect rhyme. ‘ Ideal afternoon of peacock plumes’ ‘ under skies of lost purple balloon’ So imaginative and you have captured that lazy afternoon feel, unrushed, so well. That last line with the wistful, aging afternoon is amazing. Loved it! Hugs and blessings dear friend for a

Evelyn, in your wonderfully composed monorhyme you have expressed a wistful, lazy Saturday afternoon in a garden shining with "saffron sunshine" and "onyx shadows." What wonderful and evocative images bloom in your words. I always love your masterful use of color! And your reference to time as an aging afternoon is marvelous! Blessings to you my friend. May all of your Saturday afternoons be as serene as your poem!

Magnificent poem all in monorhyme. Your diction is so precise. Being Maltese, my English is a tad lacking, but yours is fabulous.
